Golden Orchard Apple Cake with Vanilla Clouds

Ingredients

For The Cake Batter

  • 3 eggs
  • to taste salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 70 g melted butter
  • 180 ml milk
  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

For The Apple Layer

  • 3 apples peeled and sliced

Optional Topping

  • to taste Almond flakes as desired

Instructions
 

  • Beat 3 eggs with salt, vanilla sugar and regular sugar until lightly fluffy
  • Add melted butter and milk and mix well
  • Sift flour with baking powder and fold into the mixture until smooth
  • Prepare apples by peeling, coring and slicing them
  • Grease or line a baking tin
  • Pour half the batter into the tin and spread evenly
  • Add the sliced apples in a uniform layer
  • Pour the remaining batter on top and smooth gently
  • Sprinkle almond flakes if desired
  • Bake at 180°C for about 30 minutes until golden and a skewer comes out clean
  • Cool slightly, slice and serve
