Golden Banana Oat Bites with Melted Chocolate

Golden Banana Oat Bites with Melted Chocolate

Calories: 112

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 120 g rolled oats
  • 40 g chocolate drops or finely chopped chocolate

Equipment

  • A medium mixing bowl: You will use this to combine the mashed bananas, oats, and chocolate.
  • A sturdy fork: This is the easiest tool for turning the bananas into a smooth, workable purée.
  • A mixing spoon or spatula: Use it to distribute the oats and chocolate evenly through the banana.
  • A kitchen scale: Accurate weighing helps you achieve the intended balance between banana, oats, and chocolate.
  • Clean hands: Your hands are the simplest and most effective tools for shaping the mixture into compact balls.
  • An air-fryer basket: The bites need enough space around them for the hot air to circulate properly.
  • A kitchen timer: Precise timing helps prevent the small bites from becoming unnecessarily dry.
  • Heat-resistant oven gloves: These make handling the hot air-fryer basket safer after  cooking.

Method

  1. Mash 2 ripe bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add 120 g rolled oats and 40 g chocolate drops or chopped chocolate, then mix thoroughly.
  3. Allow the mixture to stand briefly so the oats can absorb some of the banana moisture.
  4. Shape the mixture into small, compact balls using your hands.
  5. Arrange the balls in a single layer in the air-fryer basket with a little space between them.
  6. Cook at 180°C for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden and firm enough to hold their shape.
  7. Remove carefully and allow the bites to rest briefly before serving.
  8. Enjoy warm while the chocolate is soft, or allow them to cool completely for a firmer snack.

Notes

Imagine biting into a warm little oat bite with a naturally sweet banana centre and pockets of melted  chocolate running through every mouthful. These golden banana oat bites need only three ingredients, yet they deliver the comforting character of a freshly  baked treat without a complicated batter. The banana provides both sweetness and moisture, allowing the oats to bind together without eggs, flour, or added  sugar. Chocolate drops melt into the mixture as the bites cook, creating little bursts of richness against the tender oats. The air fryer gives the outside a gently toasted finish while keeping the middle pleasantly soft. This is exactly the sort of recipe I reach for when I want something homemade without turning the kitchen upside down. There is no weighing out a long list of ingredients, no separate dough to prepare, and no waiting for a conventional oven to heat. The most important technique is simply getting the banana and oats to the right consistency before shaping.
