Crispy Cheesy Oat Tray Bake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats  about 50 g)
  • 1/2 cup hot water about 100 ml, just boiled
  • 1/2 small onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper finely chopped
  •  1/3 teaspoon salt
  • to taste black pepper,
  • to taste oregano
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese about 50 g, any kind you like

Instructions
 

  • Line a small baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Place rolled oats in a bowl and pour hot water over them, then leave for about 5 minutes to soften.
  • Finely chop the onion and red bell pepper, and mince the garlic if using.
  • Add salt, black pepper and oregano to the softened oats and stir.
  • Crack in the eggs and mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the chopped onion, red bell pepper and garlic.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the mixture into the lined baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds on top.
  • Bake at 180°C / 350°F for about 15 minutes, or until set and lightly golden.
